OCTOBER 6, 2012 ANNUAL MEETING MAY HAVE REVEALED
MAJOR DIVISIONS WITHIN WATCHTOWER GOVERNING BODYWatchtower's Governing Body men said at the annual October meeting in 2012 that they themselves are the Faithful and Discreet Slave, not the anointed remnant members. This is their way of making clear that They Themselves not any anointed persons beyond themselves are the ones to look to and obey. However, the doctrinal change will not be official until appearing in a “Questions From Readers” section or a Watchtower magazine study article for active Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Giving talks at the annual meeting in 2012 were 5 Governing Body members, namely Geoffrey Jackson, Gerritt Losch, Samuel Herd, Stephen Lett, and Guy Pierce. Therefore not giving talks were 3 others: Anthony Morris III, David Splane, and Mark Sanderson. Sanderson's appointment to the supreme Governing Body had been announced at Bethel world headquarters on October 1, but noticeably or even strangely, his appointment was not at all announced at the Meeting which was held October 6.An interesting thought is whether major dissent or outright divisions on the Governing Body may already be setting in. Pierce, alleged to be from a formerly fundamentalist LDS background, has indicated that some have wondered if the highly expensive construction of a new world headquarters at Warwick, New York, was a truly faithful or wise move. Meanwhile Watchtower’s payout dollar amounts to try to settle child abuse cases out of court are likely skyrocketing. SPARKS TO FLY IN AUSTRALIA FROM OCTOBER 19, 2012 ONWARD
On Rick Fearon’s phone conference for Ex-Jehovah’s Witnesses and Friends (hear archived tapes at sixscreensofthewatchtower.com), Steven Unthank revealed that beginning October 19, 2012, Australia’s government will be holding hearings about pedophilia cover-ups and the like by religious groups, and Watchtower’s policies will be especially put under the microscope as unlike for example with the Roman Catholic Church, Watchtower appears to not be very repentant.
Steven Unthanks himself has turned over documents and tapes to be heard at the hearing which is likely to be quite lengthy. Among information to be brought out is that allegedly two elders were major leaders in a sex club scandal and also allegedly the two have Jonathan-to-David type friendship relations with Watchtower’s world Governing Body member Geoffrey Jackson. Allegedly Jackson (who is originally from Tasmania, Australia) also stepped in and tried to get the two off the hook.
He also said when Jehovah’s Witnesses and even non-Jehovah’s Witness family members have asked Watchtower to take action to protect children from molesters, the Australian branch of Watchtower has allegedly had other Jehovah’s Witnesses or non-Jehovah’s Witnesses to claim that the accusing family members have themselves molested people. This was allegedly done to cause Police to discredit the accusations from the family members.
